Check out this impressive rain/hail shaft in the Archies Creek vicinity in South Gippsland yesterday afternoon. This clearly evident core was under the third of a number of storms for the afternoon as you can see the atmosphere was still extremely unstable.

That is insane Tony.. Sweet capture. Love the “beams” of light as well as the column of rain.

thanks Jeremy ! It was pretty cool to watch… Part of me wanted to go punch into it to see how heavy/much hail there was etc but then I couldn’t photograph it, so I chose the latter this time. π
cheers,
Awesome mate. Unbelievable even.
We copped another 70odd mm last night. Probably crack 300 for the month
Thanks AB – yeah I saw Olinda scored 68 and though you guys would have been in that ball park as well – amazing !
Great storm capture Tony, like all of them!
Thanks Tim – great to read you appreciate them mate π
Impressive Tone!
Cheers buddy ! π
You should have made this very large–it’s very impressive.
Thanks Petalpusher – this is just a small version for the web, the full size file can be printed at 60″ or so. π
cheers,
That is cool!!! Gotta love storms!
hey FlemBot – yeah the power of nature is not only amazing but humbling π
Holy moly mate! Looks like a waterfall from the sky. Nice work!
I’m guessing it was pretty much that Ben, from what I’ve heard from someone in the approximate area they had rainfall rates like they have never seen before at their property π
i would NOT like to be standing in it’s path ..
that’s incredible
thanks Chloe – I would π
Now that’s a storm Tone! Would that be hail? What an incredible summer Australia is experiencing!
G’day Dave – I haven’t been able to find out about hail in it, but it certainly looks likely ! π It certainly has been and it looks like your turn over there over the next week for some decent totals ! π
Yea I know mate. My parents have a sheep station near Carnarvon which was flooded in December. Looks like it might be about to happen again!!!
Very true Dave – depeneing on TC Dianne’s final track they could be looking at anything from 100-300mm in the region, last thing they want at this stage I’d imagine.
best of luck,
tone π
Holy F#$K Tony that look awesome, great work as always.
Hey Casey – It’s great to ‘see’ you back here mate, thanks π
