Rugged ranges of gold….

I recently received a comment from Robyn Holtham of the Wild Lime cafe gallery in Blinman – Flinders Ranges SA, and it has inspired me to put up another image from the region. If you are ever in or near Blinman stop in to her cafe gallery for a look and some very delicious food ! Β We certainly did on a cold wet morning after shooting ‘Utopic light’ – the scones were divine !

This particular shot is an example of what some nice light can do on a rugged scene of mountains cloaked with spinifex and rocks, there was also hundreds of wallabies that many may miss seeing as they camouflage so well.

  1. Hey Tony,

This is a seriously awesome shot. Great depth, great colours, you should be really proud of this one mate.

    • hey Jamie – thanks stoked you like it, detail in the larger version makes it even better πŸ™‚
      cheers,

  2. Very nice capture there mate

  3. That is very awesome desolate ‘nothingness’ beauty. I like it very much Tone, great composition. Lines and layers work awesome here. I would have liked just a tad more sky as the ranges sit very high in the image. But minor detail, it’s a rugged beauty for sure!

    • G’day Flem – yeah it’s a harsh land that is for sure ! I guess it was one of those situations…there is only so much you can put in the frame… here I leaned towards fitting more of the foreground light and detail than the sky, all a matter of personal opinion and preference of course πŸ™‚
      cheers,

  4. amazingness!!!! awesome shot Tony, fantastic light.
incredible how it transforms places like this- very similar here in the Pilbara! πŸ™‚

    • hey Stephen,
The old light is a magic thing that is for sure ! I know another place/area that would remind you even more of the Pilbara… but that’s another story and another post…another day – lol
      cheers πŸ™‚
