the promise of rain…

The parched paddocks are screaming for rain… On this particular stormy afternoon it looked  a genuine possiblity…  As the passage of the coldfront moved closer a bit of a squall line ripped through with windgusts of 100km/h ! Yet merely enough rain to wet the roads.

  1. cool, simple but effective

  2. bloody dry down your way mate, paddocks around my place are still green and I haven’t stopped mowing all season……still makes for a nice shot through looking over to Cape Woolami.

    • Yeah Andrew – I’m not complaining about not having to mow grass – got much better things to do than that.. though it won’t be too long !

      cheers,
      tone 🙂

  3. Looking at the ground I wouldn’t hold my breath, but I love the contrast that shots like this bring. Good work Tony

    • hey Casey,
It will come and the weather will be wild, cold and variable before we know it. I agree with the contrast and tones of the drier country.

      cheers,
      tone 🙂

  4. Can’t believe how dry it still is down there! Plenty of rain up this way. Nice imsge though mate.

    • hey Tim,
Yeah we will be a bit of the reverse in about 6months or so time. I saw even Bowen scored 400 odd mm in a couple of days last week !

      cheers,
      tone 🙂

  5. Looks very dry Tony. We just got some good rain fall which will hopefully see us through till the end of the hot weather. Fingers crossed you guys get some soon.

    • hey Mike,
We have been very unlucky this season, pretty much missing out on most of the rain and storm events.
Though I do admit I like the dry look (photographically) for a contrast to the predominantly lushness of the region.

      cheers,
      tone 🙂

  6. the rain will be here soon.. end of summer this weekend! 😦

    • Hi Chloe,
Yeah the end of summer is always a time to mourn… Though we can still have another month of nice weather.

      tone 🙂
