timeless tree…
It seems like an eternity since my last post. I have had a friend down from Qld until this evening so we have been busy catching up and out and about hiking and shooting a fair bit. It sort of feels like I have been on a photographic holiday except it has been in my own backyard ! Very strange – but good !
Here’s a recent shot (another single frame from the 5D2) that I like.
‘ Poles in time – EOS 5D2 ’
Quite nice and peaceful. Perhaps a bw conversion would work well here, and I would be interested to see a less “bullseye” composition.
Hi Flemming,
For sure I see your points mate and perhaps you could be right about a B&W (one day when I am motivated with them again). We all know that sometimes rules are meant to be broken. In this case I feel the oblique directional clouds and light on the foreground rocks and their ‘arrangement’ all point towards the central element – the mangrove and the soft illumination of it’s trunk. If I was to ‘un bullseye’ this one I’d lose one or the other of those leading features. But hey, it’s all ‘Art’ and we all have our own opinions and yours is always truly appreciated and heard. 🙂
Yeah I see what mean about the leading lines, might work. Possibly need to be a bit stronger to my eye though, but see my point. Perhaps in bw hehe. As you say it is art anyway and there are no right or wrongs nor rules!
Cool looking. Almost looks like it could be a night shot.
Yeah Cody – the fast moving cirrus on the jetstream helps with that effect I think…
