floodplain sunset

A shot of an electric sunset on the floodplains – I had been wanting to shoot these floodplains with water for a longtime, finally there was a calm evening with a brilliant twilight display !

  1. Ahhhh Tony, I’m just a sucker for a magic sunset, even better when it is reflected off water. Makes me really want to head west and sit on a farm dam watching a sunset or a sunrise (I’m not too fussy ;)).

Keep up the good work Tony, always enjoy coming here and getting lost in some picturesque scene 🙂

    • hey Andy – what a great surprise to read that you follow my blog mate. Yeah I can visualise the exact scene you are talking about…ahhh – nice !

    • haha – if it makes you feel any better I can guarantee you that it was not warm ! This one is same river as the one you are thinking about but it’s taken a few km’s upstream.

      thanks !

  3. Clouds are beautiful, perfect shape for a great reflection. This is Serenity Now, very nice 🙂

    • hey Flem – yeah I had held hope for the sky that arvo and in the last few minutes I thought it was going to be a bust – but alas ! 🙂

  4. Great shot Tony! Nice colour and how calm is it?!

    • cheers Tim – yeah it’s dead still, not bad for on the southern coast in the middle of winter !

  5. very nice reflection Tony!

    • thanks William !
I had to wait a long time to get a shot like this…5days later the river mouth was opened by the council as the road was under water…so the floods have pretty much subsided now. Maybe we could get some decent or at least average rainfall and it will flood again.
